Meet our new Course Manager

Whitley Bay Golf Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Mark Hollingsworth as Course Manager.

Mark, an R&A Scholar with a degree in Sports Turf Management, brings a significant amount of experience to the role and the talent to help us build on Whitley Bay Golf Club’s past success. Prior to this appointment, Mark held the position of Deputy Head Greenkeeper and has over 15 years greenkeeping experience having worked at Whitley Bay Golf Club and before that at Ravensworth Golf Club. 

Mark said: “Taking on my first course management job is an incredibly proud moment, and I can’t thank everyone at Whitley Bay enough for their support. To be able to lead the team of greenkeepers at Whitley Bay is a real privilege. The way we work as a team is definitely our biggest strength. My ambition is to further enhance the work the previous Course Manager started with the team, while growing our reputation and sustainability credentials as a GEO-certified course.” 

Stuart Lynn, Chair of Whitley Bay Golf Club said: “On behalf of the members and the entire team, we’re delighted to appoint Mark as our new Course Manager. Mark will play a key role in delivering an ambitious strategy which will see Whitley Bay Golf Club recognised regionally, nationally and internationally for the quality of the golf course, the all round experience provided by our professional and friendly colleagues, and enjoyed by members and visitors alike.”

Mark will oversee all parts of course strategy, development and maintenance and as a member of the senior leadership team will play a key role in promoting Whitley Bay Golf Club to deliver future success.
