Lindsay Reid, one of our members, is planning to do a very special challenge on 8th July. Lindsay is attempting to play 4 rounds of golf in one day in support of Prostate Cancer.
“Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. More than 47,500 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year – that’s 129 men every day. Every 45 minutes one man dies from prostate cancer – that’s more than 11,500 men every year. 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime. Around 400,000 men are living with and after prostate cancer.”
He will be starting at 04.30am and hopefully finishing by 9.00pm and all whilst wearing a kilt.. To raise funds, he is planning to run a competition, which will entail guessing how many shots it takes him to complete the 4 rounds -gross score.
Multiple prizes will be on offer, i.e. 4 ball at Roxburghe, 4 ball at Brampton, 4 ball at Stocksfield and the Chair’s car parking space for use on a Sunday until the end of the year. Entries will be £5 (cash if possible) and there will be a container and envelopes in the bar area plus a donation tin to purchase the Prostate Cancer’s Man of Men badges.
Please support Lindsay and Prostate Cancer if you can.
